We hope to see you at the inaugural Colborne’s Forces Benefit Concert with Emerson Drive at The Military Museums of Calgary! Below is a list of our frequently asked questions. 

Please note the show is not all ages – you must be over 18 to gain entrance and will need to present government issued ID. 

Is it outside and if so what if it rains?

Yes, the concert will be outside. If you have ever been to the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Military Museums the concert will take place in the same area. The show will go on rain or shine, unless weather conditions are deemed dangerous, so please dress for the weather. There are tents onsite which provide shelter from weather extremities – hot or cold.

Is the concert open to the public?

Colborne’s Forces Benefit Concert is open to anyone over the age of 18 until tickets sell out. Capacity at the Military Museums of Calgary, as per fire regulations, is 4,700. This will be a combination of ticket holders, sponsors and Canadian Armed Forces representatives and personnel. Canadian Armed Forces personnel will be present and honoured – both in uniform and not in uniform.

How can I get tickets or a private tent?

Where are the event proceeds directed?

Colborne’s Forces Ltd. is a Not-For-Profit Corporation.  All proceeds will be directed through Colborne’s Forces to Support Our Troops, the official charitable arm of the Canadian Armed Forces (85% of proceeds), and The Military Museums Foundation (15% of proceeds). How will the event pay tribute to the Canadian Armed Forces?

Throughout the evening we will be making presentations to the Canadian Armed Forces personnel. We can’t wait for you to be a part of it!

Can I buy merchandise at the event?

Emerson Drive merchandise will be on sale, as well as a limited amount of Colborne’s Forces t-shirts and hats. 

How do I access the event?

There is one main entrance into the Colborne’s Forces Benefit Concert at The Military Museums of Calgary. Admission gates will be located on the East side of the Military Museums off of Amiens Road and Passchendaele Ave SW. Please visit the detour maps regarding the Flanders Avenue Interchange.

Where can ticket holders park?

Flanders Ave SW is CLOSED and under construction. Therefore to access the military museums you must go through Marda Loop. Take the 33rd Avenue exit off Crowchild Trail and follow the signs to the Military Museums of Calgary. We encourage carpooling and public transit, as parking around the Military Museums will be difficult. We urge all our guests to enjoy responsibly and to not drink and drive. A number of parking passes will be issued to event sponsors. Limited parking in the field to the east of the museums is available for $20.00 a vehicle. The venue can also be accessed via 50th Avenue SW near Flames Community Arenas and requires a short walk where the road stops.

Field Parking

Overnight parking is permitted in the case of incapacitated drivers, and oversized vehicles will be charged according to the number of spaces they require. Any damage or theft to vehicles, however, at any time is not the responsibility of Colborne’s Forces Ltd., The Calgary Military Museums or Emerson Drive.

What if the museum parking is full?

Alternative Parking Options are available at:

  1. Masters Academy – next to the Military Museums on the north side, the school parking lot is available located at 4414 Crowchild Trail.
  2. Flames Community Arenas – next to the Military Museums on the south side, the hockey arena parking lot is located at 2390 47 Ave SW.
  3. South of the Military Museums at Central Memorial High School located at 5111 21 Street SW. The High School’s parking capacity is 150 and located 1.5km away from the Military Museums.

All parking will be first come first serve, so please keep in mind that the attendance is estimated reach over 4,000 people. Doors open to the concert event at 5:00pm MST. The Military Museum is accessed by foot from these areas.

Can I take a bus from anywhere?

Parking will be made available at Mount Royal University (MRU). The available parking lot is on the west side of the campus in parking lots A and B.  Prominent directional signage will be utilized. Shuttles will run from this location every 20 minutes from 5:00pm until 6:30pm. Shuttles will be provided back to MRU every 20 minutes starting at 10:15pm. Parking is tolled parking at $8.00 per car as per MRU regulations. 

What about after the event?

As per community noise regulations the event will conclude before 11:00pm.  Shuttles will be provided back to MRU every 20 minutes starting at 10:15pm. Cowboys will be providing buses to the official after-party at Cowboys.

Is there a charge for the after-party at Cowboys?

As long as you present your ticket stub from the Colborne’s Forces Benefit Concert, you will not be charged to enter Cowboys.

What should I bring to the concert? 

  • ID: 18+ only

What will not be allowed in?  

Please note, to ensure the safety of our guests we will be conducting bag checks at the front entrance. The following will NOT be permitted inside the event site:

  • Outside food/drinks
  • Lawn chairs
  • Professional cameras/ drones/ selfie sticks
  • Tarps 
  • Backpack
  • Umbrellas
  • Weapons/knives
  • Water guns
  • Balloons
  • Pets

PLEASE NOTE ALL TICKETS MUST BE PICKED UP BEFORE THE EVENT DATE.

What food will be served?

We are proud to be serving food from a variety of vendors including Spolumbo’s, Without Papers, Sticky Ricky’s, Peanut Butter Cupboard, Joey’s Only and the Mavericks. Vegetarian and gluten free options will be available.

What time does the event begin?

A VIP reception will take place inside the museum at 4:00 p.m. for sponsors. Gates open for all ticket holders at 5:00 p.m. Events start at 6:15 p.m.

What beverages will be available for sale at the event?

Please note all beverage sales will be purchased with drink tickets. When you arrive, look for our drink tickets point of purchase to gets yours as soon as you get in. Beer, cider and coolers will be served.

Are credit cards accepted and are ATM machines available onsite?

Yes, debit and credit cards will be accepted for payment of drink tickets. As well, ATMs will be available on site. Cash sales are encouraged.

Will there be accessible seating available?

Yes you can purchase accessible seating to the concert. A viewing platform will be on site with a one attendant per ticket policy. 

What if I hurt myself or lose something?

Medics will be onsite. Our event information tent will be the check in location for both lost items and lost persons. If you feel unsafe or have any questions, volunteers and staff will be roaming the event site and will be prominently marked.
